Neighborhood block party
Your neighborhood puts on a big block party every year, and this year your family is in charge of putting on the big event. Though this will be a big task, you know that you will easily be able to complete it, thanks to your laser printer.
First things first—get the word out. You need to get everyone involved and find out who wants to do what. Start out by using your laser printer to produce flyers about the event. Make sure you explain what a block party is and why you are hosting it. Make sure you tell everyone how much help would be appreciated and what kinds of things you need to get the showboat on the river. Tell them about all the important skills needing to get the ball rolling. Do you need a carpenter or electrician to get tables set up and the sound system working? If so, include that. Also, tell people they can cook food, plan games or even sell things at the block party.
Now, you are going to need to print out a signup sheet. Once you’ve printed it out, put it on a clip board and get ready for the door to door campaign. Stop by every house, knock on the door and explain why you are there. Make sure everyone knows that you need help and that you are in charge of hosting the event. Make sure you also give them all your contact info in case they need to think about it or check their calendars. After you’ve discussed it, if they’re willing to commit, have them write their name and what they’re contributing on the signup sheet.
Now that you’re home and you have supporters, you should use your laser printer to print out reminders to those who have promised to contribute. Remind them what they’re contributing and remember to say “thanks”.
